Vanessa Turke

Data-driven from birth, Vanessa has been working as an Information Architect and User Experience Researcher for over a decade. Specializing in Higher Education, Enterprise eCommerce and Healthcare, Vanessa advocates for a growth-driven, user-centred approach that helps provides insight and direction for mission-critical site tasks, user-friendly navigation, content categorization, layout and task workflow to make websites easier for real people to use. She loves using the latest UX research tools to make lean recommendations - targeting only the aspects of the UI that were troublesome, saving these organizations time and money on re-development.

Whether it be conducting user research to learn more about user behavior, designing topic hierarchies for optimal findability, creating intuitive navigation and search systems, or developing robust scalable user interfaces for intuitive audience journeys, everything is geared towards a great user experience that drives organizational goals forward.

Vanessa is an advocate for Growth Driven Design - a philosophy that allows websites to continuously evolve and improve according to hypotheses that are validated or invalidated based on data, and where features are rolled out in a manner that both inform and are informed by experiences and learnings from UX research. This approach increases the potential impact that the website can have on business objectives, and minimizes the risk inherent to a website redesign.

She enjoys collaborating with stakeholder groups and multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex user journeys and design challenges. If it’s a puzzle, she wants to help solve it!

When she’s not working, you can find her watching her daughter’s basketball games, walking her cat Bruce on a leash, or cooking her favorite soups.
