At BSTRO, Sonia is instrumental in the meticulous coding of websites, newsletters and apps for our clients. Her background as a former content strategist and later as a partnerships manager and community manager for digital content creators gives her an invaluable edge: She’s that rare developer that understands content, too.

In addition to her work at BSTRO, Sonia is the creator and manager of Hearing Gold: a music publication and label highlighting up-and-coming artists from around the world. Sonia has built a niche following of like-minded music lovers, and spends much of her free time interviewing bands on behalf of Hearing Gold. She also hosted the music segment of Y57 Media at Vancouver Co-Op Radio for 5 years, interviewing countless Vancouver musicians in the process!

When she’s not developing for BSTRO clients or building her indie music empire, Sonia scours the Internet for awesome new music, goes to concerts, casually DJs her friends’ parties, eats a lot of sushi and ice cream, plays tennis, and yes, fosters cute homeless kittens.

Best advice

“Fake it ’til you make it.” It’s not about being dishonest about your abilities, but having the grit to get back up when you fail and fall and having the confidence to achieve things you never thought you could achieve. Basically, believe in yo’self!
