UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay
The new UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay had an aggressive goal: obtain $600 million in fundraising. A critical component of their fundraising initiative was a website that would provide potential donors with a place to learn more about the medical center, its vision, and its point of difference. For this, UCSF turned to B’stro. In our design for the UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay website, we highlighted the exceptional services that the hospital complex will offer when it opens in 2014. With full color images, clear navigation and bold, scannable copy, we detailed just how extraordinary the 289-bed children’s, cancer, and women’s specialty hospital complex will be. We also made sure to feature the innovative design and careful planning methods happening behind the scenes.
One important element of the Mission Bay website is the Champions section. Highlighting the caregivers, scientists, patients and partners who have already pledged their commitment to UCSF, the Champions page offers an added dose of inspiration to would-be donors. Meanwhile, an easy to access click-to-donate section makes it easy for philanthropists to contribute.
B’stro brought design, programming, copywriting, information architecture and strategic direction to the UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay site. Today, bright visuals dominate each page of the dynamic, interactive site. A multimedia section hosts videos of the medical center plans, as well as a live webcam feed of the construction site. To keep the site fresh and relevant, the latest news releases are always featured in Mission Bay’s newsroom section.
As a San Francisco-based agency, we couldn’t be more fervent supporters of the work UCSF is doing here in our community. By creating this website, we’ve lent our talents to the valiant fundraising efforts already in progress for UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay—and for that, we can’t help but feel proud.
