Nicky Forsman

Content Producer

Nicky Forsman is a storyteller. She has grown up in the world of film and television as a consumer and creator, and over her 11-year career has written, produced and directed nearly 150 hours of content. First venturing into the feature film world as a producer at only 20, Nicky was recognized for her open and constructive criticism of Canada’s inability to support the marketing and distribution efforts of completed independent films.

“You can put your heart, soul and government funding into a project, but if you don’t have a business plan and a market that supports your ‘art’ no one’s going to see it.”

This quote is indicative of Nicky’s ability to use both sides of her brain and connect her creative ideas to her business acumen. Even in her early days, Nicky never failed to see how her two skill sets could work hand in hand and it was that recognition that led her to a full time position with OUTtv and its production arm Convergent Entertainment.

For over a decade Nicky has worked to generate, develop and produce television content for OUTtv and the international market. To date, she is most proud of her work on lifestyle travel series Operation: Vacation, educational drama #STI, and long-term docu-series Kitty 911. These projects do not have the highest budgets nor have they garnered Nicky the most recognition. Instead, they’re her favorites because of their capacity to inspire and change lives.

Whether sending a breast cancer survivor to Peru or teaching people of all ages the important truths about STIs, Nicky is passionate about making a difference, big or small, through the stories she tells.
