Grow Some, Save Some: B’stro Launches Septembeard.org

Campaign challenges men to grow beards to help eliminate prostate cancer

Vancouver, BC – Advertising agency B’stro today launched a new campaign for their client Septembeard (septembeard.org), a San Francisco-based non-profit organization. Septembeard has a simple goal: eradicating prostate cancer, the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in men. The campaign offers people a direct way to participate and offer financial support to fund research for a cure.

“When we heard about Septembeard’s very clear goal – to eradicate prostate cancer – we knew we had to be involved,” said Jill Tracy, President and Chief Creative Officer at B’stro. “B’stro has a track record of delivering complex public health information in attention-grabbing ways. Septembeard.org is an organization we believe in and we were happy to use our design and marketing skills to help them change the world.”

Septembeard invites the public to join the fight against prostate cancer by sponsoring a team or an individual who has opted to grow facial hair during the month of September. Donations to Septembeard go directly to world-renowned prostate cancer research institutions in the United States, including: University of California, San Francisco, Johns Hopkins, Memorial Sloan-Kettering, Mayo Clinic, MD Anderson and Northwestern University. By providing funds directly to these institutions, Septembeard eliminates an additional layer of administration fees that would come with sending their donations to another foundation, putting much-needed research dollars directly in the hands of those working to find a cure for prostate cancer.

“There are no words to express my appreciation to the team at B’stro,” explained Art Wagner, founder of Septembeard. “When we were thinking of the ideal agency to bring our vision for Septembeard to life, B’stro immediately came to mind. Time and time again, I’ve seen B’stro create what I call “beautiful engagements,” – gorgeous design that compells people to take action. I knew B’sto had the depth of talent, and the passion required to successfully launch Septembeard. B’stro’s total creative solution from identity, through copy, design and  website development, exceeded our expectations. Their hard work and creativity has been instrumental in bringing Septembeard to life.”

The Septembeard launch includes a social media campaign, website and print ads in magazines that include Golf Digest,Men’s HealthRunner’s World and Travel + Leisure along with banners on theweek.com
